Public Schools

Goochland County Public Schools offer a variety of programs and services to prepare students for a successful and fulfilling future. These offerings include Special Education, Gifted and Talented and Enrichment, Alternative Education, Career and Technical Education, Pre-Kindergarten, and Governor's School.

There are also multiple opportunities for dual enrollment courses, which are offered through J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, and Advanced Placement classes.

All schools in the Goochland County Public Schools (GCPS) system provide special education, enrichment and gifted services. GCPS is accredited by the Virginia Department of Education and AdvancED (formerly SACS-CASI).

Goochland Citizens voted overwhelmingly in November 2021 to issues bonds to build a replacement school for Goochland Elementary School, as well as make parking lot improvements and add a CTE wing at the secondary complex.
